Asked to bat first, West Indies lost some early wickets but the partnership between Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers gave them momentum. However, the Proteas bowlers quickly bounced back and controlled the run flow. For South Africa, Shamsi scalped three wickets while Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, and Keshav Maharaj scalped one wicket each. For West Indies, Chase smashed 52 off 42 balls while Mayers scored 35 runs. Apart from them, Andre Russell scored 15 off 9 balls.
