Gay Memorial Primary held their inter-house sports at the National Stadium today. Yellow House Tigers are new sports champions of Lawrence T. Gay Memorial Primary. Having placed fourth last year, Yellow House Tigers roared with determination to ensure that when the final points were announced, they were the ones taking a victory lap around the stadium track. There was a tie for third between Red House Rockets and Green House Giants as both accumulated 207 points. The victor and victrix ludorum both scored 36 points each and emerged from Red House and Green House in the Under-11 age group. Each event won by an athlete was worth 12 points and Dwanesha Hoyte of Red House won the 100m, 200m and 300m for her 36 points. Similarly, the champion boy Kishawn Burnett of Green House sprinted to victory in the 100m, 200m and 300m for top honours. Yellow House collected lots of points in the Under-nine age group compliments Division champions Lakezia Hunte who accounted for 20 in the girls section after winning the 100m and coming second in the 80m and 150m. Meanwhile in the Under-nine Boys Meshach Payne- Worrell registered 31 points from winning the 80m and 150m and capturing second place in the 100m. Gay when she won the 100m, 200m and was second in the 400m. Bragging rights for the fastest boy went to Under-13 Boys Division champion Jaheem Griffith of Yellow House. Griffith tallied 24 points after winning the 100m and 200m convincingly.
