OTT, a registered charity and developmental performing arts programme for students between the ages of seven and 21, presented the musical from April 12 to 14 to packed houses. The cast of 39 locally based young performers brought the well-loved musical to the Barbadian public to great reviews. “OTT is so full of gratitude to Barbados for embracing our production and showing overwhelming support last week. We were so encouraged by this response and received so many encore requests, that our cast and partners have made the decision to present two bonus shows. We hope that even more Barbadians will have the opportunity to witness the extraordinary talent of our country’s young people,” said Janelle Headley, Director, Founder and Trustee of OTT. Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning musical is a captivating masterpiece, which tells the story of Matilda who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. The bonus shows will run at 12 noon and 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 20. Beginning Tuesday, April 16, tickets will be available at A & B Soundz (Sheraton Mall); Deanna Dash’s Toy Shop (Sky Mall); Lewis Drug Mart (Rockley); OTT Performing Arts Academy (Rockley); SmartStore (Worthing and Limegrove); and online at www.ticketnation.bb. Advance ticket purchases are BDS$55. If available, tickets may be purchased at the door for BDS$65.
