The competition which was organized by award-winning Gospel Artiste Osinachi Sinach Kalu will offer professional vocal training as well as an opportunity to perform with Sinach on one of her tours. “I would have met Sinach last year in October 2018 when my church [Rhema Apostolic Ministries] brought her in for a concert in October. I was following her before the concert and she bought out a programme which would help upcoming ministers be trained and learn how to come out and do their own thing in ministry singing for God. She started a platform Gosgem, and she did an online vocal training programme where you would have gone through different areas of training techniques and how to take care of your voice. At the end of the project she asked us to do a one minute clip of our favourite song,” she said. Walters is in the top ten of the competition which was highly contested by gospel singers from all over the world. To be eligible, she participated in a course provided by Gosgem and sang a one-minute video of one of her favourite songs Nothing Is Impossible. Speaking to Bajan Vibes Walters said she wants Barbadians to support her in this venture as she is the only Caribbean person out of 60 entrants to be in the top ten. “I have made it to the top ten so far. There are going to be two winners and the two runners up. They would have the opportunity to tour with her at one of her events. It is my desire to take my ministry to another level as I know I need that kind of training and mentorship, so I decided to go with the programme and seek that opportunity,” she said. The gospel singer who received international acclaim with her hit song I Am Amazed implored Barbadians to vote for her so she can expand her ministries beyond Barbadian shores. Can‘t stop his roll “The more I promote this competition, although it is not a national one, the more people would see it and [support] me being the only Caribbean entrant. This competition would help me to grow in my ministry that God has loaned to me in this time and season. It would allow me to be able to rub shoulders with people in the Gospel music industry at a high level. It is going to allow me to be trained by one of the best in the industry. For me, this competition is one that will help me to grow as a gospel artiste,” she said. Walters implored Barbadians to vote for her by visiting the site https://youtu.be/OYc8m1_Okak .
