The Royal Barbados Police Force has received several reports from various business places and organisations that they have received telephone calls and messages from persons purporting to be officials from the Ministry of Health and authorised by the Minister of Health to collect monetary donations for the assistance of persons affected by the Covid – 19 Virus.

The Force is advising persons who are confronted with such requests; to first verify the authenticity of such individuals by seeking their names, formal identification, contact details and also they should also check out that information is correct before accepting to do business with such individuals.

Persons trying to receive monetary gain by means of deception will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
