The 49-year-old fish vendor, who plies her trade at the Cheapside Fish Market is accused of using threatening words towards Sonia Taitt-Bailey, who also works at the Bridgetown facility. It is alleged that on May 30 she told the complainant, “I gine chop you up. I gine f**k you up. I wanna kill you. I wanna chop off your head and when it on the ground I wanna chop it and chop it in pieces. I hate you,” with intent to cause her to believe that immediate and unlawful violence would be used against her. Bellamy Thompson pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared before Magistrate Graveney Bannister today in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court. With no objections from the prosecution the accused was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 which she secured with one surety.
