Public Relations Officer, Carl Padmore told Barbados TODAY the exercise should take about two-three hours. “We have started to dispose of some mattresses under the watchful eye of the Barbados Fire Service, this is ongoing as last week we had the test burn to see if the pit that we had dug would have accommodated the mattresses.” Padmore said: “These mattresses would have been acquired from nurseries, homes, and even from the hospital. Some of them would have been affected with the bed bugs, so we have had a meeting with the fire service to find a safe way to dispose of them and the best method at this time is the controlled burning. He said the exercise would happen twice more, next week Tuesday and Friday. Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
