The Caribbean’s largest water park should be open in Barbados by weekend.
A Barbados TODAY team who visited Rascal’s Water Park Inc. at Brandons Beach, St Michael, was told that work on the island’s latest attraction should be completed by Friday morning.
Team leader at Rascal’s, Robert Myers told Barbados TODAY the project was finally reaching completion after five years.
“We finally got it and I am very proud to present the largest water park in the Caribbean. It is the largest aqua fun park in the world. It is German-designed. When the tourists come back they can share it as well,” he said.
Myers said the water park and accompanying Rascals Beach Bar & Restaurant were created for people of all ages to enjoy.
“First and foremost, it’s a people’s park…. It is exclusive fun for everyone. We are making it affordable. Locals can get their discounts; we do family memberships. Old, young, colleges, schools, company motivation, we look forward to having a wonderful partnership,” he added.
Nigel Thomas of Aqua Fun Parks and Products, the company undertaking the installation of the park, said the new attraction will be a big plus for tourism and the local economy.
“From our experience in the past, even the smallest park is phenomenal for attracting tourism, creating jobs. It is great for the economy. It is great for local tourism,” he said, adding that it was the right location to attract cruise passengers and was really “the perfect spot for a water park”.
Thomas added that the setup of the park allows for a fun time for people of all ages.
“It features two different sides— a junior line on the inside and then an outside ocean line for all ages. That will be lots of fun. A park this size will be absolutely fantastic not only for Barbados but for Brandons Beach and the operators,” the Aqua Fun spokesman told Barbados TODAY. (IMC)

Is this part of the blue economy? So we are again promoting plastic in our oceans , taking away the beauty of our beaches . This is not our culture, and not who we are . Stop promoting this synthetic fake world around us.
Sounds wonderful. Will they be guards at the entrance to fend off the undesirables? No guns and drugs should be posted at the entrances.
Welcome to Miami.
The last waterpark that existed was up in Christ church. It had minimal luck and shut down. Very similar to the restaurant and bar scene..very few of these businesses are successful. If you dont have hard capital , and constant cash flow…you cannot survive as a business. These extremely difficult times in Barbados to be starting a business and it will need a colossal turnaround in the tourism industry to see these businesses grow and flourish. Locals are cash strapped and many are without work..and add to that the ” Bert” program which has put this island back many years. Good luck to the investors.!
