TORONTO – Increasingly, working remotely is becoming standard practice for many in today’s ever-evolving operating environment.
To prepare Chartered Professional Accountants for the workplaces of the future, Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) hosted a free virtual session for its international members on January 19.
The “Online Productivity Tools and Remote Working” session focused on tips and technology designed to help individuals and teams work successfully outside the confines of the traditional office space.
“Working online and communicating virtually is changing how we deal with our colleagues and clients,” noted Tashia Batstone, Senior Vice President, External Relations and Business Development, CPA Canada.
“We want to ensure that our members have the knowledge required to thrive in this new work setting.”
“The session provided an overview of the Internet applications, online services, mobile tools and digital platforms that leading accounting enterprises are utilizing to run their operations online and from remote locations,” said Garrett Wasny, the event’s featured speaker.
Wasny walked the participants through the ins and outs of leading online and remote working technologies, including how to avoid and address some common challenges of working off-site and how to effectively manage a team of professionals who work outside a traditional office environment.
“Remote work has really taken off, so it’s great that our members had a chance to learn about best practices from an expert,” said Oliver Jordan, Chair of the CPA Canada Barbados Chapter Advisory Council.
“Our members appreciate receiving this timely and helpful insight.”
In total, more than 630 CPAs from over 46 countries, participated in the event. (PR)
