A 46-year-old plumber has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds for the next 28 days on gun and ammunition charges.

It is alleged that Patrick Carlisle Pilgrim, of Lot 44 Padmore Gardens, St Philip had in his possession on February 25 an illegal firearm without a valid licence along with eight rounds of ammunition without a valid permit.

Pilgrim, who was represented by attorney-at-law Kyle Walkes, was not required to plead to the indicatable charges before Magistrate Elwood Watts.

He however denied the charge that on the same day he dishonestly undertook in the retention of certain stolen goods namely a gun valued $2 500 and seven rounds of ammunition worth $4.90 belonging to Bernard Barrow knowing or believing them to be stolen.

The matters against the accused will come up again for hearing in the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court on March 29.
