Grantley Adams International Airport Inc. wishes to advise the public that the airport is currently closed and will remain closed until at least 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 11.

Deputy CEO Terry Layne says only authorized, essential airport personnel will be allowed access to the airport during this time.

Barbados is currently under a severe volcanic ash and small-craft warning as a thick plume of volcanic ash from the La Soufriere Volcano in St Vincent is currently affecting the island.

A Small-Craft Warning shall be issued when reduced visibility (less than 5 km) is affecting the marine area.
