Local NewsNews BWA urges non-use of potable water as low reservoir levels impact some customers by Barbados Today 12/04/2021 written by Barbados Today Updated by Sandy Deane 12/04/2021 1 min read A+A- Reset Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 221 The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) is appealing to Barbadians to conserve water as it experiences low water levels at some of its facilities. Below is the full statement from the BWA: The Barbados Water Authority is currently experiencing low water levels at some of its facilities. This is manifesting itself in periodic loss of pipe-borne water to some customers. The increased use of potable water at this time of the ash falls is also making this situation worse. While the Authority understands that persons wish to wash down their yards, cars, homes etc., please be reminded that excessive use of potable water at this time is putting an unnecessary strain on the island’s water resources. Instead, please brush or sweep areas and bag the ash wherever possible for safe disposal. If water is absolutely required for cleaning, persons are advised to use non potable water. The Authority’s tanker crews will continue to assist the residents of any affected districts via water tanker as an interim measure.  ( BWA) You Might Be Interested In Crystal Beckles-Holder, 2nd runner up in regional competition GUYANA: Body of child found after gold mine collapses Barbadians asked to help with return tickets for Haitians    Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
