The Bachelor of Arts, Arts & Entertainment Management’s Event Management class will be going LIVE Monday, 17, May, 2021 at 7:30p.m. on Social Media platforms Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIN and Youtube, with a virtual sneak peek into the offerings of the Fine Arts Division of the Barbados Community College.

A Treat For Enthusiasts

Those who tune in to this student-led virtual production, Mirage: Arts Refine, will not only get a behind the scenes look at the work of the Division but an introduction to its Coordinators, Tutors, Current Students and Alumni. A welcome addition to the Season of Portfolio, which, like many events, has been affected by the global pandemic, Mirage Arts Refine seeks to support the development of the Creative Economy through providing an interactive showcase, thanks to the work of the College.

Mirage Arts Refine, conceptualized by students Lowrey Worrell, Kayla Lambert, Akil McGeary, Michael Grosvenor and Jeromy Thomas, will be an excellent opportunity for prospective students and parents to have the first hand opportunity to experience the various disciplines of the Division, meet tutors and celebrate alumni of the programme.

‘Mirage, Arts Refine is the flagship production of the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Arts & Entertainment Management.’

“It is a key practical learning opportunity for students as they train to become managers and practitioners in the Creative sector,” said student Producer Lowrey Worrell. “Thanks to the guidance of Tutor, De Carla Applewhaite, creating an event in this unprecedented environment was challenging, but she inspired a creativity that may be considered unusual for managers especially as we transition from being ‘artists’”.

The producers collectively noted that none of this would be possible without the support of Sagicor, Crumbz Bakery, Mousike and Descript Media. They each believe in supporting the arts and youth, innovation, and entrepreneurship. (PR)
