Greetings to Everyone,

I make this statement in response to the outrage by several Barbadians about the circulation of the Trojan Riddim video, featuring several Barbadian artistes including myself. It is unfortunate that its circulation on social media has coincided with a number of recent incidents in our island, which have affected the general public. Releasing diverse content is all part of the life of a creative and there are many examples of artistes whose content often evokes controversy from particular groups or segments of the society. However, I wish to make it clear that I’m totally against crime and violence and it was never my intention to promote or incite violence in any way.

Anyone who has followed my career would know that I originated from dancehall roots so the genre is not one, which is foreign to me. Soca gave me an opportunity to rise to national prominence but even in the Soca arena, I have always tried to remain true to who I am, where I have come from and to reflect what is happening in Barbadian society whether through the use of Bajan dialect or through the release of music which appeals to different demographics.  How I express myself may not always sit well with some but it often tells a story of the realities of everyday life for some segments of our society.

I, therefore, wish to thank all those who have supported me throughout the years. I have, and always will have nuff love for all my fans, followers, sponsors and supporters.

Nuff Respect
