Barbados Water Authority teams continue work to restore the water supply across the island.
As of 4 p.m. Sunday, the authority’s production capacity from its facilities is at 94 per cent.
Water is gradually returning to customers in several of the districts impacted earlier by outages. However, we still have pockets in our distribution systems that are still to be fully charged. These include some sections of St Lucy, St Thomas, St John, St Joseph and Christ Church.
Most of the areas still not receiving a pipe-borne supply are at higher elevations.
Our teams continue to work with the Barbados Light & Power to have the pumping stations fully restored to electrical power from the grid as 50 per cent of our facilities are still on generators.
We have 20 water tankers in the field fully engaged in serving customers and refilling the community tanks.
Persons are encouraged to be conservative in their use of water at this time as the authority seeks to get all customers back online.
The network still requires time to fully replenish. Kindly continue to report any service outages to our Customer Service Reps at 434-4292 or via WhatsApp to 836-4655 or 836-4683. The Barbados Water Authority thanks everyone for their patience and understanding.
