Tests carried out on Saturday, August 28, numbered 1,886. Of the 50 new positives, 40 persons are over 18 years old and 10 are under the age of 18. One person, a 58-year-old woman, passed away from the virus yesterday after spending eight days in isolation. She had no underlying conditions and was unvaccinated. Her death brings the number of casualties from COVID-19 to 49. There are currently 230 people in isolation. Barbados has recorded 4,931 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2,418 females and 2,513 males) since March last year. The public health laboratory has, to date, conducted 259,396 tests.
