Soft-spoken accused Kadesh Kenrick Austin was remanded to HMP Dodds after he informed a magistrates’ court that he had no one to sign bail on his behalf.

The 28-year-old from Bonaire Lane, Cave Hill, St Michael will make his next appearance before District ‘C’ St Matthias Magistrates’ Court on September 28.

Austin is accused of loitering on The Dome Mall compound on September 22 with cause to suspect that he was about to commit theft.

He is further charged with breaching the COVID-19 curfew imposed on the island by allegedly leaving his home on the same date between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. when he was not an employee or member of an essential service or a person that had an emergency.

No plea was taken when he appeared before Magistrate Kim Butcher in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
