The introduction was done by Chairman of BTMI, Roseanne Myers, and Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Senator Lisa Cummins, at the conclusion of a major planning meeting at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre with dozens of key members of the local private sector. Also present for the informal introduction was Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Ryan Straughn. Thraenhart, a 26-year veteran in the hospitality industry, takes up the top BTMI post from November 1, 2021, and brings to the job a wealth of experience in a number of international tourism markets, including Canada and Thailand. He is also expected to leverage his considerable industry contacts to help push the island out of the current COVID-19-induced slump.
