Calfie displays across the island were filled up with spots in no time,” said Dana Rock-Murray, Category Manager of The Pinehill Dairy, as she officially donated $10,000 to The Rotary Club of Barbados South’s (RCOBS) Back to School Service Project. The initiative, now in its second year, met its target after shoppers enthusiastically filled up supermarket displays island-wide with their stickers. President of the RCOBS, George Connolly, accepted the donation on behalf of the organization. “Once again, we would like to thank Mrs. Rock-Murray and the Pinehill Dairy team for working hard to reach their target,” said Connolly. We will now work with The Child Care Board to provide monies to various households who need help with their educational expenses.” To participate in the cause, persons had to purchase a 2 per cent Reduced Fat or Whole Milk twin pack with a special necker tag featuring a sticker of a cow’s spot. After purchasing, they would remove the sticker and place it on displays of the dairy’s Calfie mascot at participating supermarkets. “Family is priority at Pinehill,” said Rock- Murray, “so while the campaign might be over, we are still committed to positively contributing to our communities – not just with our products, but with our actions too.” She encouraged persons to contribute to The RCOBS’ still ongoing project, and said the dairy would be giving back with its Twin Packs bigger and better next year.
