Marijuana trees, cocaine destroyed by police

Police from the Northern Division headed by Deputy Divisional Commander Superintendent (ag) Adrian Broomes, carried out the destruction of narcotics at the Portvale Sugar Factory in St James on Saturday.

The total number of narcotics destroyed included 14 110 marijuana trees ranging in height from seedlings to 12 feet; and 1 088 grams of cocaine.
The total weight of narcotics destroyed was 638 kilograms or 289lbs.
These illegal narcotics were recovered as a result of police operations across the entire northern districts of the sland.
Members of the media together with an independent witness were on hand to witness the destruction process.
