A 30-year-old man was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds today in connection with a firearm and other matters.

Dario Darron Rasheen Taylor, of Gall Hill, Christ Church appeared before Magistrate Kim Butcher in the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court located at Horse Hill, St Joseph.

He is accused of having a firearm in his possession on November 5 without a valid licence and 13 rounds ammunition without a valid permit.

The accused, who is represented by attorney-at-law Rasheed Belgrave, was not required to plead to the indictable charges when he appeared before Magistrate Kim Butcher in the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court. Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls was the prosecutor in the matter.

It is further alleged that Taylor contravened paragraph 27 clause A of the Emergency Management COVID-19 Curfew number 20 Directive on the same day by leaving his residence while he was in quarantine without the consent of the Chief Medical Officer.

He was not required to plead and will appear in the District ‘B’ St Matthias Court on December 15 to face that charge.

On the gun offences he will appear before the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on December 13.
