The fines were imposed on Kiplyn Hallam Ifill by Justice Pamela Beckles in the No. 5 Supreme Court on Monday. Ifill, a resident of Mapp Hill, had previously pleaded guilty to having a .32 H&R Magnum firearm and six rounds of ammunition on June 22, 2010. For the gun, he was fined $20,000 which is payable in three months or he will have to spend four years in prison; while he had to pay $5,000 forthwith to avoid an 18-month jail term on the ammunition charge. The facts of the matter were that police executed a search warrant at Ifillโs home, and while searching his bedroom they found the firearm in a green bag. When asked to account for the gun, he told officers: โI aint know nothing bout that gun.โ You Might Be Interested In Crystal Beckles-Holder, 2nd runner up in regional competition GUYANA: Body of child found after gold mine collapses Barbadians asked to help with return tickets for Haitians However, he later changed his story and said a man had given him the firearm to hold.
