The victim has been identified as Shaquon Stanford of 2nd Avenue Skeete’s Road, The Ivy, St Michael. A statement from police said the fatal shooting occurred around 8:50 p.m. at the same address. Police said Stanford was sitting on the step outside his residence using his cellphone when he was approached by a lone gunman who opened fire. Several shots were fired. The victim received injuries to the buttocks and upper torso. Stanford was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by private vehicle. He later died while receiving medical treatment. The assailant ran away, police said.
