Justice Christopher Birch gave that directive to Jason Ramon Sandiford, of Fairview, Christ Church on Monday when the case could not proceed as the defence was not ready. Sandiford is charged that he on June 20, 2016 unlawfully caused serious bodily harm to Sharon Belle with intent to maim, disfigure or disable her or to do serious bodily harm to her. He is also alleged to have unlawfully and maliciously inflicted serious bodily harm on Belle. When the matter was called before Supreme Court No. 5A this morning Senior Crown Counsel Oliver Thomas made it clear that the state was ready to begin the trial. The prosecutor informed the judge that the complainant was present and all of the prosecution’s witnesses were in place. However, Sandiford was not ready as he had no documents for trial. “Get your house in order and get yourself ready,” Justice Birch said as he gave the accused another trial date.
