Barbados records 123 new COVID cases

A total of 123 new COVID-19 cases (54 males and 69 females) were recorded by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, March 25, from the 883 tests conducted.

The positive cases consist of 25 persons under the age of 18, and 98 who were 18 years and older. The number of people in isolation facilities was 43, while 912 were in home isolation.

The number of deaths from the viral illness stands at 330.

The public health laboratory has carried out 607,845 tests since February 2020 and recorded 58,393 cases (27,060 males and 31,333 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 160,923 (70.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 150,873 (55.7 per cent of the total population or 66.1 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
