And St Peter MP Colin Jordan along with chairman of the committee Ricardo Leacock have promised that the health facility will continue receiving assistance. During a ceremony at the polyclinic in Station Hill, St Peter, Jordan said the donation was a tangible way of showing gratitude. โWeโve learnt in more recent times to be more thankful,โ Jordan said. โOut of the generosity and out of the thanksgiving of people over the years, weโve been able to assist this institution and we plan to continue our assistance to the institution once we have the resources to do so,โ he added. Past donations to the polyclinic have included outdoor benches, a television, and a podium, and Leacock promised to continue supporting the health facility which provides medical services to more than 2 500 people. They didnโt know this was a polyclinic because there was no sign to direct them to the location,โ she said. She said the polyclinic had been offering services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and staff had worked โabove and beyondโ, although the effects of the pandemic were not anticipated. Leacock explained that due to the restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee was unable to hold a fundraising concert but wanted to fulfill the promise of providing the signage. That was made possible through the assistance of the Speightstown Nazarene Church, the St Peter Parish Organising Committee, Black Bess Seventh Day Adventist Church, and Sign Up Inc.
