As part of the activities to mark Child Month 2022, the Child Care Board (CCB) will host a number of activities aimed at Nurturing Children, Strengthening Families.
A week of open days at the Grazettes, John Beckles, London Bourne, Joan Arundell and Madam Ifill government day nurseries will conclude tomorrow, Friday, May 13. The opening hours are 10:00 a.m. to noon, and 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
On Saturday, May 14, officials from the CCB will host a public awareness initiative on Adoption and Foster Care at Massy Supermarket, Warrens, St. Michael, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Then, from Monday, May 16, until Friday, May 20, there will be open days at the government day nurseries – Haynesville, Bagatelle, Eden Lodge, Nightengale and Farm, between 10:00 a.m. and noon; and 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
The Adoption and Foster Care public awareness initiative returns on Saturday, May 21, at the Emerald City Complex, Six Roads, St. Philip, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Open days for the government day nurseries at Marion Hall, Sayes Court, Delores “Ma” Worrell, Geoffrey Morris and Colleton will run from Monday, May 23, until Friday, May 27, from 10:00 a.m. until noon, and from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Two children’s webinars will also be held during the month for primary and secondary school students under the theme: Hear it from the Children.
The first of these webinars will be held on Tuesday, May 24, targeted at primary school students, while the second will be held on Friday, May 27. Both webinars run from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
A virtual parenting seminar under the theme: Parenting, Protocols and the Pandemic: Building Hope and Resilience for Tomorrow will come off on Friday, May 27, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
This will be followed by an Adoption and Foster Care Workshop, on Saturday, May 28, at the Blue Horizon Hotel, Rockley Beach, Christ Church, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
On Sunday, May 29, the month-long activities will conclude with a Healthy Lifestyle Extravaganza under the theme: We Are One: Let’s Move Together, at the Belfield Playing Field, Black Rock, St. Michael, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. (BGIS)
