Assistant Superintendent in the Criminal Investigation Department Victor Forde told reporters that police received reports of gunshots heard in the area. After arriving at the scene around 8:15 p.m., they found the body of a man lying on the road with what appeared to be gunshot injuries to the body. The victim, believed to be 30, was pronounced dead by a police medical officer.
