This pertains to those who paid a processing fee and were awaiting a Liquor Licence Board Hearing, or were approved and awaiting a certificate pending payment. Acting Director of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA), Ministry of Energy and Business, Bertram Johnson, said these individuals who applied through the Registration Department must be regularised within the new online portal. Mr. Johnson continued: “These persons are asked to register online at liquorlicence.gov.bb and click on the re-apply link provided. Persons re-applying via the online portal have until Friday, July 15, 2022,as the window for processing these applications will close after this date. “In addition, persons using the re-apply application process should note that the liquor licence will be valid only until December 31, 2022.” The DCCA assumed administrative responsibility for the issuance of liquor licences from April 1 this year, when the liquor licence regime shifted online, from a manual application system through the Magistracy of the Registration Department. Persons applying for a liquor licence online are reminded that they may pay through Government’s EZpay+ platform, using debit or credit cards. Liquor licence online applicants must have a valid email address since the certificates are sent via that medium. Meanwhile, the Help Desk at the Liquor Licence Authority, Department of Commerce, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, offers liquor licence applicants support from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Those with queries may contact the Authority at 535-7011 or 535-7019, or via commerce.ca@barbados.gov.bb.
