Former Member of Parliament and Attorney-at-law, Ezra Alleyne, will be accorded an official funeral on Monday, August 8, at the Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens and Crematorium, The Ridge, Christ Church. The Service will begin at 10: a.m.
Alleyne, died on July 10 at the age of 78.
A long-standing member of the Barbados Labour Party, Alleyne served as Deputy Speaker of the House from 1967-1968 and as a Member of Parliament for St Michael North West from 1976 to 1981.
An attorney for more than five decades, Alleyne was known for successfully defending Ronald Biggs, the train robber, in extradition proceedings in 1981.
He was also regarded for his expertise in international business law, double taxation treaties, constitutional and corporate law.
He leaves to mourn his wife Tassiea and four children, Gayle, Daun, Alistair and Nathan.
Viewing of the body will take place on Sunday, August 7, at Lyndhurst Funeral Home, Passage Road, St. Michael, from 4 to 7 p.m. (BT/BGIS)
