Columbian drug accused remanded

Columbian national Oswaldo Rafael Acosta Aroca has been remanded to Dodds after appearing before Magistrate Douglas Frederick at the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court  sitting at the District ‘F’ Complex at Horsehill, St Joseph this morning.

Aroca, 58, of #20 De Octubre, Santa Marta, Columbia has been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis; trafficking cannabis; possession with intent to supply cannabis; disembarking without the consent of an Immigration Officer and entering Barbados other than a port of entry. He was not required to plead to the indictable charges.

The accused was represented by attorney-at-law Shadia Simpson while Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls represented the state.

He was remanded until September 7.
