Police say the victim is Kyle Mario Roger Mayers, 27, of Rices, St Philip. He was identified by a family member at the funeral home where his body is being kept. Police said around 9:50 pm on Thursday, they responded to reports that a number of loud gunshots were heard before the car ran off the road and struck some shrubbery in a garden in front of a house. Mayers was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.
