I understand why the authorities wish to bring a degree of normalcy to the lives of Bajans after almost three years of restrictions. But we cannot afford to let our guard down in the haste to free up ourselves. People are still dying. Barbadians are still dying, including the stay-at-home elderly whose younger relatives are bringing home the virus.
