Charlene Theresa Garnes is the owner of Atelier by Seven Blooms and Sophisticated by Seven Blooms which she started due to the unfortunate death of her brother in 2017.

Garnes who is a former student of The Alexandra School said that initially she started her business Atelier by Seven Blooms in 2009 when she completed her cosmetology classes but restarted it in 2019.

“The Atelier by Seven Blooms is a growing self-care and wellness company. We offer a range of nail services the highlight of which is our Self-Care Memberships, these range from V.I.P, Luxe and Premier. Our service options also include Structured Manicures, Sculpted Nail Extensions and Overlay Nail Care. Our pedicure options range from Express Pedicure to Waterless Pedicure. Also available are our express facial and Micro blading services, and very soon we will be expanding to include brow waxing, laminating, tinting, makeup services and Self-Care Soiree Sundays which can be booked for two people. Sophisticated by Seven Blooms is our retail arm and products can be viewed via our website www.sevenbloomsbarbados.com. Some of our retail options are headband wigs, clothing and accessories, including handcrafted precious stone and Fresh Water Pearl waist beads, anklets, necklaces etc. We will be expanding to include a handmade section which will include clothing options,” she said.

The graduate of the Barbados Community College with an Associate Degree in English Literature and Law said her business which is located in Oistins, Christ Church originated out of persons telling her that she was creative.

“I am creative, and I enjoy sewing, creating jewellery pieces as well as nail care. These are all things I have always had an interest in as I have realized that life should be spent doing what you love and I wanted to allow my talents to be a part of my legacy and to bless others as I do so,” she said.

Garnes who is a Christian said that she is thankful for the clients that became family over her two years of operation.

“You cannot claim to have faith and worry. Show up for yourself and your business, bet on yourself, do the work and trust that God will make the way. When I look back at where I started, the persons who came and left and then the ones who stayed, I am thankful for every single client that I have had, my nail membership clients and those that have rallied around me during this season of grief as I recently lost my dad, have a special place in the heart of Seven Blooms,” she said.

The businesswoman said she would like to see an ease of doing business for small businesses as she has had a challenge trying to import items for her business. To this end, she believes that small businesses in Barbados should come together and support each other.

“For us to show greater support for each other as a whole. Support comes in many forms, purchasing a product or service for yourself or someone else, it could be a referral. We are in an age of social media where the ability to like, comment and share someone’s business can be done at the click of a button,” she said.

Garnes thanked everyone who has been a part of her journey thus far and invited them to be a part of her community.

“I would like to thank all of those persons who are a part of my Seven Blooms community both online and offline. We go live on Instagram @sophisticatedbysevenblooms at the end of every month to talk about self-care. So far, we have covered ‘Self-care: Mind, Body & Spirit,’ ‘Self-care while parenting’ and up next will be ‘Self-care while dating.’ Our self-care and life blog comes out every month on the 23rd via email and we have some amazing things in the works for the last quarter of 2022 and 2023. I invite persons to join the Seven Blooms tribe as you elevate your self-care; it is more than nails, it’s a lifestyle,” she said. (Write Right PR Services)
