The grounds of Ilaro Court were transformed into a vivid display of scrumptious culinary delights and dazzling cocktails on Sunday night, as the 2022 edition of the Barbados Food and Rum Festival came to a close with its premier event, Liquid Gold Feast.
A theme of elegance and opulence ran throughout the festival’s final night at which the fashion of patrons was also highlighted, with a red carpet leading patrons directly into an intimate space where local and internationally-influenced dishes were located.

The hundreds in attendance were equally impressed with the array of cocktail selections, all mixed with a variety of Barbadian-made spirits.
Music lovers were not left out as performances by 2 Mile Hill, Keisha Christian, Wesu Wallace, Krisirie, Shadia Marshall, Ch’an and Alix Cage set the mood for patrons to party deep into the night.

But it was soca and calypso artistes Red Plastic Bag, Biggie Irie and Edwin The General Yearwood who brought the curtain down on what has been the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.’s biggest local event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
The night and this year’s festival generally left a sweet taste in the mouths of locals and visitors who said they are already looking forward to the festival’s offerings in 2023. (SB)
