The giveaway was an Instagram competition which invited persons to like the sponsor’s pages and tag their friends for a chance to win various sponsored prizes. Property Manager at Nelohn Properties Inc. Danielle Gibson said she decided to host the local giveaway to give back to individuals in the community. “Nelohn Properties Inc. is a Barbadian company that always believed in giving back. As a family-owned company, we started this business out of giving back vacation rentals. In the pandemic a lot of persons were couped up in the house, could not travel and could not afford a lovely vacation stay. So, we decided to work with some of our clients as well as ask persons to sponsor an item or service. That is how the Local Gone Global Giveaway was born,” she said. This year, the grand prize winner was Sarah Cato. She won a one-day pool pass for one person and four friends at Providence Estate, one photoshoot compliments Trey Vision Photography and a clothing voucher compliments Fashion Cut Boutique. A very happy Cato collected her prizes from the owner of Trey Vision Video and Photography, Tremaine Yearwood, and Danielle Gibson. Owner of Casanova Liquid Desires Phillip ‘Casanova’ Antoine presents one of his master blends to one of the winners of the Locals Gone Global Giveaway Faith Chukwuka. Gibson said her company was pleased the winners could attend the prize-giving and enjoy their gifts over the Christmas period. “We feel great. It was good to see the joy on the faces of the persons who collected their prizes. I think they are excited to enjoy them,” she said. Gibson noted there were three new sponsors, De Tech Electronics, 250 Personal Chef Services and Boats Bar and Grill, who helped make this year’s competition a reality. Tremaine Yearwood said he came on board because he wanted to give back to the community. “This is the second year I’ve partnered with them. The first year was an experience, and I enjoyed it. When Danielle asked me to be a part of it, I did not think twice. For me, the opportunity to give back is always a pleasure,” he said. Dehron Davis, owner of De Tech Electronics, said he decided to sponsor a Samsung Galaxy Tablet because without customer support he could not own a successful business. “I donated a Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite and you can use it for educational purposes.
