CMPI General Secretary David Denny made the disclosure as he delivered his Kwanzaa message via a video posted on Facebook recently. “Going forward into the future, into next year, our movement will now work on trying to develop closer links with our African community throughout Latin America. We have started this process with the assistance of Venezuela and will attend some of the summits in Venezuela with our African community in Latin America. “But we are going to pay a lot of attention . . . next year to developing stronger ties and working relationships with our African community in Latin America. We would also like to invite the Government of Barbados to invite the Vice President of Columbia to Barbados to participate in our season of Emancipation in 2023. This is a very progressive system, so that we can build our relationship with Latin America,” he said. Denny indicated that the movement would celebrate Kwanzaa on January 1, 2023, at Haynesville, St James and also observe the Cuban Revolution and Haiti Independence on that day. Additionally, Denny said the CMPI was pleased and supportive of the work being done by Prime Minister Mia Mottley internationally.
