Purple House picked up right where they left off before the Covid pandemic, winning their third straight sports title at the St Martin’s Mangrove Primary school today.
It was no easy feat though, as they were chased all the way to the wire by Gold House, with the title only being decided in the day’s final race at the Rices Playing Field, St Philip.
In the end, Purple who also won in 2018 and 2019, just managed to hold on, amassing 617 points, with Gold having to settle for second with 611 points. Orange was never in the running and finished a distant third on 485 points.
While the divisional winners as well as the Victor and Victrix Ludorum were unavailable up to press time, there were some impressive performances.
T’shaena Chalon, 10, representing Gold House claimed the coveted title of fastest girl at the school when she slammed the field to comfortably win the Under-13 Girls’ 100 meters.
Meanwhile, 11-year-old Dayne Gill also of Gold House was crowned the fastest boy when he captured the Under-13 Boys’ 100 meters in dominating fashion. (RB)
