First place was given to the Yellow House Vipers at the Milton Lynch Primary inter-house sports but guess what? – Also striking to share that top spot were Blue House Lightning Bolts.
Astoundingly, Blue and Yellow tied at 194 points and Red House took home bronze with 136 points.
It was indeed an intense showing of athleticism on Friday at Briar Hall playing field in Christ Church as the boys from both houses put in the work to climb the ranks, and to ultimately take home bragging rights with them.
Even though third place was taken by Red House they too had athletes who showed elements of genuine genius on the track.
The last sports in 2019 was won by Blue House who at that time was named White House.
Principal Tyrone Marshall said that he was very pleased with the outcome of the first showing of track since the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
Physical education teacher Jermaine Gittens said that he was surprised by the outcome.
“Today for the first time in my eight years here we had a tie with yellow and blue house. Usually there’s an outright winner but for the first time we had a tie in the scores and the house leaders came together and said if there’s a tie there’s no tie breaker so we have two first place houses-yellow and blue,” he told Barbados TODAY.
