Field officers will turn their attention to districts located in northern, western and central Barbados.  In St James, those areas are Orange Hill, Blowers, Bakers Road, Lancaster Bridge, and Apes Hill.

In St Thomas, the areas of concentration will be: Padmore Village, Millennium Heights, and Arthur Seat.

McColitt Bridge, Horse Hill, Easy Hall, and Cotton Tower Road, all in St Joseph, will be visited by the BSS Field Officers

In St Peter, Reservoir Road, Greaves Road, Mile and a Quarter, Ashton Hall, and The Whim Road will be targeted.

The CLFSS is the quarterly collection of current information on various labour force characteristics, as well as income and expenditure data, gathered from a sample of households across Barbados.  This information is then used to determine employment and unemployment levels in the island, coupled with the distribution of skills/professions in the different sectors of the economy; all of which lead to the provision of statistics for timely and necessary social and economic planning.

The BSS implores the public to take the necessary precautions when interacting with the personnel of the department, by wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing.

Additionally, all BSS personnel will be carrying an official identification card and will not be entering the home of respondents.

The department thanks those members of the public who have previously completed surveys and urges the public to cooperate when officers visit their homes.

All information will be held in the strictest confidence.
