ATMs, phones back online; other COB systems still unavailable

Two weeks after suffering a cybersecurity breach, resulting in some of its services going offline, the City of Bridgetown Cooperative Credit Union Limited (COB) is reporting that its automated teller machine and telephone services are functioning once again.
However, officials are still struggling to restore critical point-of-sale, online banking and other systems.
“Members can now use any of our ATM machines at our four branches. In the event that you experience any issues, a member of the branch will be happy to assist you,” he company said in a notice to members on Wednesday.
“Our team continues to work on restoring foreign ATM, point of sale, mobile and online banking transactions,” it added.
The credit union continues to offer extended hours for this week.
On Tuesday, February 14, the company was impacted by a “system breach” which affected its entire network, forcing members to only have access to their funds by going in one of the credit union’s four branches.
A week later Chief Executive Officer Glendon Belle gave the assurance that members’ funds were safe and that an expert was working with the credit union’s IT team “to provide a roadmap to safely and securely bring all of our systems back online”.
“I wish to assure you that the intrusion did not compromise members’ funds. In addition, our members have been able to verify their balances as they interacted with our teams at all our four branches,” Belle said in his video message a week ago.
