Foursquare Rum Distillery Managing Director Richard Seale welcomed delegates from the Chinese Embassy to tour the award-winning St. Philip distillery. Chinese Ambassador, Yan Xiusheng, Consular Officer Liang Jie, along with members of the Consular staff, were joined by Director of Foreign Trade, Kay Sealy and officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
Seale gave an in-depth history of the family-owned rum distillery, from the family’s acquisition of the estate to the production and bottling of Foursquare’s domestic and export brands. Seale also shared plans for expansion, while the delegates viewed three additional rum reserves currently under construction. The distillery began exporting to China in 2021.
Ambassador Xiusheng stated he was very happy to have visited Foursquare Rum Distillery and would help the company build trade relationships with China. The Ambassador emphasised that China was open to Barbadian products.
Mr Seale thanked the delegates and presented them with a gift of Foursquare’s award-winning artisanal rums. (PR)
