Elderly man dies in St Lucy house fire

An elderly man has died following a house fire in St. Lucy.

Emergency services responded to the fire at a residence at Mount Johnson, near Josey Hill, around 1 pm on Saturday.

Police say the man, believed to be in his late 90s, died in the blaze.

Police say the fire destroyed a wood and wall property.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Eight fire officers responded and extinguished the fire.
