St Lucy fire victim identified

Police have identified the victim of Saturday’s house fire in St Lucy as Keith Michael Vancooten, 97.

Emergency services responded to a fire at a residence at Mount Johnson, near Josey Hill, around 1 pm on Saturday.

Police said Vancooten died in the blaze.

The fire destroyed a wood and wall property, and the cause is being investigated.

Eight fire officers responded and extinguished the fire.
