Madam Justice Pamela Beckles adjourned the matter on Monday after hearing the facts of how the Melrose, St Thomas resident was found with the illegal weapon two years ago. According to State Counsel Kevin Forde, Goddard was walking along Welches Terrace on February 5, 2021, when he was stopped and searched by police. When asked to account for the BB pistol found in his possession, Goddard responded: “I now find that.” Further questioned about if he had a licence to carry the weapon, he stated that he did not as his identification card had been stolen. Attorney-at-law Matthew Willougby who represents Goddard has asked for a pre-sentencing report.
