Williams clocked 49.60s in the women’s 400m finals, finishing behind Poland’s Natalia Kaczmarek (49.58s) and gold medallist Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic.Paulino clinched victory with 48.76 seconds, setting a new National Record for her country. Williams’ achievement marks Barbados’ third medal at the World Championships, with the quarter-mile queen contributing two bronze medals, and a gold medal attained by sprint hurdler Ryan Brathwaite during the 2009 Championships.
