The packages were presented to children who took the 11-plus or Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE). Speaking toย Barbados TODAY at Graydon Sealy Secondary, Humphrey highlighted the need to honour all students for their efforts in the exam, not just the top achievers. Additionally, he said that even though some children may have difficult home lives, if they put in the work, they may do amazing things. โSt Michael South is a lot like the community I grew up in in The Pine, so I try to remind children even though people say things about where you come from, as they do about Brittons Hill, as they do about the Bayland, that it does not matter. โFirst of all, they donโt know you, and some of the best people I know grew up in regular circumstances. Even if they judge you, you can go on to be your own person and do well.โ Humphrey also noted that the support from parents continues to be good. โEvery year the support is the same; the parents are thankful for the back-to-school support, but they are very happy about the conversation, and the idea that their children are important and should be celebrated.โ (SB) Shamar Blunt You may also like New model aims to build fuller student profiles for secondary schools 26/06/2026 Nicholls: Birth tourism ads no cause for alarm 26/06/2026 Man remanded after majority guilty verdict for firearm possession 26/06/2026
