Investigations are underway into a suspected gas leak at Fairchild Street in Bridgetown, in the area of Freedom Park near the traffic lights.

However, police say preliminary investigations suggest there is no threat to public safety at this time.

On the advice of the National Petroleum Cooperation and the Barbados Fire Service, the Barbados Police Service is advising all pedestrian and vehicular traffic to avoid the area, as work is being conducted to resolve the situation.

Local access to businesses located on River Road and Upper Fairchild Street will be granted, but from River Road and John Beckles Drive only.
