Accountant Michael A. Edghill has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Barbados, five months after legislation was passed to increase the number of directors.
A statement issued by the Central Bank on Tuesday said Edghill will serve a one-year term. His tenure began on November 9.
In June 2023, an amendment to the Central Bank of Barbados Act that expanded the number of board members to eight. The other directors are Governor of the Central Bank Dr Kevin Greenidge, who is the Chairman; Director of Finance and Planning Ian Carrington, who is an ex-officio member; economist Trevor Campbell; economist and Deputy Principal at the University of the West Indies, Professor Winston Moore; economist and financial analyst Professor Justin Robinson; attorney-at-law Lynne Marie Simmons; and businessman Jared Wright.
Edghill has more than 40 years of experience in the field of auditing, accounting, finance, and risk management and was most recently an Audit Partner at KPMG in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.
He previously served on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Barbados (ICAB), acting as the Chairman of its Audit and Accounting Standards Committee.
