Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 2.7K To help local entrepreneurs boost their business, the Globe Drive-In has committed to transforming its outdoor movie facility into a market day on Saturdays. Managing director Scheval Ali said the market day will be held every Saturday to give small business owners a fixed location where they can showcase their handiworks and goods. “We are holding this market day every Saturday to help entrepreneurs better develop their goods and services. We are offering them an opportunity to set up stalls in a welcoming and family-friendly environment that Barbadians have frequented for many years. They will be able to attract customers, network and promote their business in a safe space without having to worry about the financial burden that comes with renting an office. They can build their customer base in a refined setting that is easily accessible and very accommodative with bathroom facilities and an uplifting ambiance for a low fee,” he said. Thus far, well over 20 vendors have benefited from the event, which started a few months ago. Acknowledging that there was room for improvement, Ali said he was pleased with the progress the market day has been making. “We want these market days to become a regular part of every shoppers’ Saturday. There are so many products offered that this can be a one stop shop for almost every need. We have a variety of fresh produce on sale, plants for people interested in gardening or who just want to beautify their surroundings, a variety of locally produced treats, skin care items, ornamental pieces, craft, tasty food, on the spot printing services, wall art, clothing and lots more. So we are excited about this venture and when word gets out, we hope more people will be interested in being part of this market and support their family, friends and fellow Barbadians in growing their businesses.” The market day takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Adams Castle, Christ Church drive-in.
